Can I just paste my sales into ChatGPT?
What it does well. Export yesterday from your point of sale. Paste it in. Ask what the average check was by hour, which items sold under ten dollars, what the top ten were by dollars rather than by count, and ask it to chart any of it. It will do the arithmetic you never had time for and explain it in plain English. For a question you have been meaning to ask for a year, this is a very good Tuesday night.
Two habits that keep it honest. Tell it what the numbers are: before tax or after, gross or net, one restaurant or three. And check any figure you are going to act on against the file. A chat window answers the way a confident new manager answers. Ask for something that is not in the paste and it may hand you a number anyway, with no flag on it.
What you are handing over. On a personal ChatGPT account, OpenAI says it may use what you type to train its models unless you opt out. The switch is in Settings, under Data controls, and it is called Improve the model for everyone. Turn it off, or use a Temporary Chat, which is not used for training and is kept up to thirty days for safety checks. On the business plans, ChatGPT Business and Enterprise and the developer route that companies build on, OpenAI says it does not train on your data by default. All of that is on OpenAI’s own pages, read on 20 October 2026. The sales file is the least of it. A labor export carries names and pay rates. Think before pasting that one anywhere.
The second night. This is where it stops. Tomorrow you paste again, and it starts from nothing. It has no normal for your Tuesday, because your normal is forty Tuesdays with the weather on each one, and nobody is going to paste that in by hand every night. And it only sees what you give it. No invoices, so no food cost and nothing about what you kept. No hours by job. No kitchen times. No note from the closing manager. No forecast and no calendar. You can paste the chart of a soft night. You cannot paste the reason.
What a built tool does differently. Not smarter. Plumbed in. Syphor reads what you already run, every night, combines it, sets each line against your own normal for that weekday, and writes the page before seven. On the asking side it runs through the business route, which OpenAI says it does not train on by default, and it will only run a question it can prove against your own tables. When it cannot, it says so instead of making a number up. How asking works.
Do it anyway. Paste tonight. You will find out what your numbers can tell you when somebody asks them a question. And you will know exactly what you want on the second night.
Syphor reads your point of sale, your invoices, your hours, your kitchen and your manager’s note, sets every line against that restaurant’s own normal, and sends one page before seven. $199 a restaurant a month. Thirty days on your own numbers first. Book a demo.
